We couldn’t let our 50th year slide by without celebrating this landmark for the club. West Wickham BSAC has achieved a lot over the last 50 years, not least calling itself home to many divers around the South East and further afield. So, to celebrate this occasion, sixty members past and present descended on London Bridge for an evening of telling tales and catch-ups with old friends over a 3-course meal and a few drinks. It was lovely to see so many people there and hear how each person had been part of the club to watch it grow. 50 years is no small feat and it was a fitting celebration to demonstrate how West Wickham BSAC has supported so many people to dive.
Not only were we able to reconnect and have a laugh at some photographs from the earlier days, we were also able to raise £500 towards the Marine Conservation Society who help to support our seas.
Awards were given out to newly qualified divers as well as the ‘Andy Smith Achievement Award’ and Diving Officer award.
A fantastic evening, lets see what the next 50 years has to bring.
